what makes you happier

ok..

you wanna get a zorst...

so.. you have 2 choices...

zorst 1.. a big tail pipe only.. adds sound... kewl .. and a great look to the car...

zorst 2.. semi straight through system (Good level of back pressure maintained for performance) with big bore tailpipe..

heres the catch..

Z1 is £20

Z2 is £350

both produce the same external effect...

the Z2 offering gives a 2bhp realistic increase throughout the range

which do you buy..... and why

I bought Z2 - because its a building block. Maybe it gives a couple of bhp but I dont think youd notice in everyday driving. I like the way it looks and sounds, no doubt about that, but I reasoned that there had to be more to it than that.

One day (soon I hope) Ill be able to afford the Hill Power induction kit and chip (or whatever whizzy device fixes the fuelling). The exhaust will compliment those mods.

Z1 and Z2 in my case were £175 and £325 respectively (Magnex).

.... prepares to be shot down

Z2 always. Just like Mike said, I saw it as a building block and with all the mods Ive done, I would have had to bin the whole system anyway. Plus its a Magnex so I can be sure that I will *never* need to replace any exhaust components again. Z1 is for the beginner mate, Im surprise youre even considering it...I hear Peco do a nice loud backbox!

Well, I have always gone for the full performance system route (i.e. Z2) and not the cheapo Peco Big Bore 4 style (i.e. Z1) zorst!

The reason I put a zorst on a car is for a performance increase, not a noise increase.

Although... the noise (not too loud) is nice!

Some cars *really* suit a performance exhaust and a Scooby sounds AMAZING with a proper system!!!

I had Z1 - magnex full system, because id heard nothing but praise about the fit and build quality. Once it was on it was knocking and never stopped till the day i sold it, after numerous attempts to refit it! Also even with a decat it was a bit too quiet (though it had its moments) as i was used to a Peco powermaster on my RT. And i chose the Peco for the tailpipe design, NOT just the noise. So Z2 it was for my 16v, well sort of, custom straight through centre section, decat pipe, and a Piper back box with a 4" pipe. Ive lost some low down power, which doesnt help in a 16v but at 60+ its much more lively. Im pleased with it anyway.

Isnt the difference between Z1 &Z2 in the quality of materials and workmanship....???

Z1 definately wont be made of stainless steel and wont last 10years+

wow capt...you have suceeded to make a big topic out of nothing!!! haha

i took the Z2 becasue it was free to me

hehe you hide it well Joe, but I know you want that 4" slash cut box sticking right out from under your motor!

Z1 custom made by powerflow for £140 adds sound thats about it (remember im driving a 1.2 so theres no point in Z2!!!)
