What next for the 17 TWO?

  "Navy" N17 TWO
So far I have got Samco hoses and a Maxogen fitted with a CAF mounted in the lower grill.

I have bought a K-Tec Sport Cat from a member on here with intentions of getting the K-Tec recessed exhaust as the standard one is getting a bit raspy.
Insurance renewal at Christmas is putting it on the new-year list :)

I was also thinking of getting a 182 manifold to join up with the exhaust but can't see benefit over cost at the moment
unless someone on here can shed a bit more light on it? (those who took the plunge)

Other bits I've considered doing
Matched inlets
RS Tuner

182 manifold makes a big difference IIRC

I'd got for that, then the RSTuner to tie it all together.

Been given mixed opinions of the 182 manifold upgrade + the hassle of fitting so I'm undecided - hence the post really

i have toyed with the idea of a 182 manifold too, but have also heard mixed reports about them on PH1's

all i need to get is my rstuner unlocked to get mine mapped

Oh yeah, mine got 183.8bhp completely standard - inaccuracy FTL me thinks but I was still chuffed lol

I'd even be tempted to do another (accurate) RR without the maxogen and then do it again with all the mods on to compare :)

i plan to get inlets and then remap mine, and thats all im going to do, and then learn to drive it properly

dont wana spend too much, would never get it back if i were to sell

(which i wont lol)

Well worth doing imo. Another big plus point is it makes life easier when changing and messing with the exhaust ;)

Agree, the decat pipe is like 80cm long, rather than bending over the subframe.

How much do we recon 182 manifolds go for? Im tempted to hunt for one.

But then i would need what, a 182 decat pipe? Customer made exhaust cat back?

Not really sure what the going rate for a 182 manifold is these days but its a lot cheaper than it used to be last time i looked.

No, 182 cats or decats wont fit unless you chop your old exhaust down.

Best way is to buy a link pipe from Ktec or get a pipe made up to fit. Ktec link is probably the best hassle free method

182 manifold idea is scrapped lol the cats are different sizes. Not too fussed about it anyway was just curious wether or not it's worth upgrading.

RS Tuner, matched inlets and an exhaust is on the future to-do list now :)

  200bhp 172 cup
the 182 manifold and recessed system made a huge diffrence to my cup my friend has a standard one and the diffrence is very noticeable! and the car pulls like a train and does not feel strangled anymore.

so far i have the matched inlets, group n remap and the full exhaust with 182 manifold also an itg filter and the car is alot faster than standard! but it just feels so diffrent aswell, hard to explain but it picks up so effortlessly.

another thing with the recessed system if you get the d-cat wear ear plugs:approve:
its loud!! not loud as in a chavy peco big bore 4 i mean a quality sound that turns heads and it sounds awsome :), just need the 182 manifold to 172 system sports cat now for mot

the dcat pipe from k-tec is made to fit the 182 manifold upgrade and then to fit your 172 system, aftermarket or standard :) piece of piss mate.

Wee nudge - does anyone know (prefferably from experience) if a weight in the boot of the car affects the rolling road result?

I'm going to throw my OE airbox back in over the next few weeks and get another run for the sake of it;
see if I can get a reliable reading for a "standard car" before I stick anything else on/in :)

Only thing is, I'm putting some of my ICE back in too very soon + some dynamat. Will it affect the readings on the rollers?

would not of thought the weight in the boot would make an difference as the car aint moving

Adds to the overall weight of the car though, wouldn't that affect how it pulls etc etc - maybe that's being a little bit anal about it lol
