What renault done to my car?

Got my car back from renault the other day for a shock absorber and strut top mounts. Got back in it and noticed the seats/ steering wheel have all changed position. Then noticed my radio had been fiddled with but still got my preset stations, and my AC is on cold full blast. The trip clock is reset and most importantly, ive noticed my gear change indicator twice today, and i never usually see it.

Thing is, is that i have a superchip and the limiter comes on much later, but today seems much more early. Car still Fast as though.

Is it easy to reset the ECU as i am worried renault have put it back to normal somehow.

So they just wiped £200 + worth of a remap. Why would they do that?

They did it as they proably did a ECU check and found the maps were corrupted ie not standard so uploaded some new ones.
Superchip should upload the map again for free as these things do happen.

thats what happens mate when the flash the ECU

do you have a "customer key" with your remap?

go into the dealership and ask if they touched the ecu?

the car being just as fast as normal is because the superchip will do pretty much nothing that the standard ecu doesnt already do, theres not really much optimisation in modern ecu maps especially on performance tuned cars like the 172/182

the only "benefit" is the raised rev limit and thats all youve noticed has changed

Fred: I do have a customer key but they said it has the original map on it if i wanted it back to std.

What should i do??

True.. but after i had it done i thought the car performed more smoothly. Will have to check tomorrow to see if its still the same.

I know its not a great loss but its the priciple that renault just deleted £200 pounds worth !!

It wasnt a service... replacment shock and strut top monts etc.

Think it went to around 7500 rpm. Think i saw it today a 7K !!

OE std is 7200

remap you're fine upto 8K

Odviously dont want to shell out for another remap. Would superchips do it again for a small/non fee?

Its not really the extra 300rpm i was after but thought it ran smoother....

ring them, IIRC the customer key has your remap on there and its an £85 charge to plonk it back on the ECU (good money for a 2min job!)
