What should I be cleaning my wheels with..?

I've got some Lenso BSX's (fake BBS's!), and at the moment I clean them with Autoglym wheel cleaner, soapy water and a wash mitt.

They have a polished lip and Gloss black centres and i was wondering what I should be using to clean with, and whether i should be applying any wax or sealant.

Here's some pictures of the wheels if it helps.

Thought I'd re-use my thread instead of starting another one, What mitt or brush should I be using to clean these with?

Personally give them a good clean as you do.
Then two good layers of this:

Then a layer of wax. This will help keep them cleaning for a bit longer/stop brake dust bonding to them and alot easyier to clean

Should I be applying this to the plastic coating and the polished lip?

Okay, so I bought some Bilberry wheel cleaner, says on the bottle 'Not to be used on polished wheels'

Anyone suggest something else to clean with, I'm currently using Meguirs Hot Rim Cleaner, but I'm worried it may be corrosive so the sooner I get an answer, the better.

Cheers.

Was the autoglym not working for you then?

They do a wheel cleaning kit which is really good. I use clean wheels then spray on their wheel sealant.

I wouldnt of thought Bilberry is bad for "polished" wheels???

Just dilute really weak???

i personally use an engine degreaser as its not so harsh aggitated with a detail brush, rinse, then clay if it needs it (but difficult on your wheels), then seal with AG wheel sealant spray.

Didn't notice there was a reply to my post!

They both look good products, havn't seen the spray on AG wheel sealant before so Ill have to look out for that.

Will be getting a sample of the iron cut as well.

if the wheel cleaner is very acidic just water it down lots.
make sure you wax/seal the wheels then if you keep on top of them you should just be able to use walm body shampoo as the brake dust wont stick to it.

when the bottles say "not for polished wheels" it mean bare metal, yours are laquered so as long as your not using neat brick acid and a wire brush you wont ruin them....

Why does everyone always reccomend poorboys wheel sealant?

FFS. its not even that good. Id sooner have a tin of FK, or Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection. Should give you 3-4 months of protection if not longer.

Clean them up properly if they are filthy. Bilberry wont remove stubborn grime, Espuma Revolution will and its acid free, it is very very strong though. If the wheels have been protected then id jet wash the brake dust off and aggitate them with a brush, using a very light mix of snowfoam and water in a sprayer.
