What Spec is this 197?

just a phone picture...
no xenons, recaros, push button starting (card thing), comes with the bluetooth gadget... the guy told me that they actually put those stripes on it... cant remember the mileage but could its recaros were worn in ''that place'' as they attempted to sort it, priced at about 13k

anyway, i test drove this today and tbf it was pretty poor, maybe my expectations were too high, i expected to get pushed back into my seat but didnt feel any of this which was dissappointing, it drove as if i was skipping gears... 3rd from 2nd felt like 2nd to 5th and had a sort of juddering movement... at first i thought my driving and so did the salesman then he actually realised it was a fault with the car, a problem so apparent he actually asked me to turn around and end the drive.

this has now got me thinking that even if i do get a decent 197 then what are the odds of this sort of thing happening to it? and how much it would cost to sort if it occured upon the warranty expiring.

Has anyone else had this problem with their 197?

That’s a non cup 197 with the toys, did you let the car warm up before booting it? The 197 is very hesitant for the fist 5-10min, reduced power, jumpy etc

nah wasnt really much of a drive tbh...maybe that couldv been it. problem seemed too great to continue...guy said he will ring me back on monday with another to test drive, hopefully that will perform better, didnt think you'd have to let the car warm up to actually feel some degree of power, wouldv thought ud feel at least some sort of power instantly so it actually feels like you're driving an RS

Even the cold start thing only limited the revs a bit, it should have still had pull lower down in the revs. It definately shouldnt have felt asthough you were skipping gears...

lol it actually had me looking down like wtf... and actually said ''is that third'' as for it being a problem it was beyond me as to what would cause it.

has got to warm up.and remember all the power is high up the rev range.it will not start singing till 5k.

You might be right in expecting too much, cracking cars but it's not really going to push you back into your seat (much).

I think so. You're better off spending a bit more a buying a 200 IMO.

yeah i knew the price was silly... easy r27 money, and wouldnt spend that much anyway... upon the next drive if a 200 is available i think il have a look at that aswel, though the front end on them really isnt my thing lol so doubt id walk away with one
