What tyres for an upgrade on T1-R's?

Hi I've got to replace two of these on the fronts soon and wondering what people would recommend as the next stage up? Not looking for the best out there as such... just a little better than I have already :) only for general street driving really. Doing about 2,500 miles a year at the moment if it makes any difference!

Also looking to replace my rear discs and pads... what's the guys name to contact again? G172 or something.

Anyone suggesting semi-slick track day tyres for his missus to potter around and drive into car park bollards etc needs to go and hang out in the "track day tyres" thread and leave the "normal" people alone :tongueclosed:

You can get Michelin Pilot Sports in 15" for £50 ffs. Given much worse tyres (e.g. T1R!) are only £12 or so less I really don't know what more anyone could want. Widespread concensus being one of the best all round road tyres available. Last ages, relatively quiet, perfectly safe in the wet and offer more than enough dry performance to make an RS Clio drive as it should.

Pilot sport is a good shout. AD08R is noticeably grippier and is a good road tyre as long as you keep it out of standing water.

T1-R was pretty good in it's day, but that was a bloody long time ago. ;)

Thanks guys, lots of good ideas here :) I'll do some research into the ones mentioned and order over the weekend probably.

I only have T1-R's as they came with the wheels I bought. To be fair they haven't done me that badly but then maybe I don't know what I'm missing!
