Whats different between the 16v and willy

I was wonder what the difference visually between the 16v and willy. I mean if you where to pop the bonnet would there be any difference in what you see.

I heard that the differences are the bottom end is board out to 2l, different gear box, starter motor and ecu. But surly you wouldnt be able to tell these just by popping the bonnet and having a look would you?

I been looking in the willy gallery and the pics of engines look identical to the 1800cc 16v. Are they?

hence why a williams engine convertion for the valver is so good!, its almost totaly stealth to the insurance company.. they wouldnt be able to tell the two apart!!

group17 performance for group12 bucks... id buy that for a dollar ;)

Thats what im asking about.

Want mine converted or something similar but dont want my log book changed so am wondering if i could get away with it. Would an inspector notice that its a willy engine, if did get caught i would say i brought it like it and just didnt know (log book saying 1800cc to back me up).

Im only 20 with 1yr no claims and so its an ideal way to get more power. Got quotes of £2400 for proper willy insurance compaired to the £820 i pay now full comp.

i know a chap who used to race in the CLIO Cup, and he tells me that the cast manifold from the 1.8 is better for performance? willy manifold does look better but the primarys are very short. anyone have any experiance on this?

also may have a complete williams lump and running gear coming in, anyone be interested, obviously can fit if you wish, not sure on prices, but its gonna be cheap, very cheap!;)

No mate! the stickers never came. Cheers mate. Had some more done since the pics where taken like bad boy bonnet and rear spoiler etc.

The 17s where a easy as feck to put on. Just took out the black sh*tty plastic things. Took bout 1hr in total and drove fine without rubbin 4 up. 5 up it rubs a little on bends but not bad at all. Cant quite get full lock but it isnt bad compaired to what i imagined after being in a mates saxo on 17s!!!

When you find out the price on that Williams lump, let me know, now wheres the wife hidden my cheque book??!!!:devilish:

you could always just convert the bottom end. it gives just as good gains as a complete williams engine, will work out a lot cheaper, plus you get to keeep hold of your original head(so you know the history) all that you need for the conversion is a 2l bottom end, starter motor and chip to suit. I am selling the correct 2L bottom end(and all else necessary) in the for sale section!
