What's the quietest exhaust system?

What is the quietest exhaust system for a 182? I used to have a powerflow on my old ibiza gti, it had a really nice tone to it, but once it was on the motorway it would make your ears bleed!:S

I want an easy on the ear motorway exhaust but sounds great when driving on A roads etc..

If you want very quiet, I would go for the silenced version of the one I bought as a result of this thread. Mine has become slightly more boomy as it's 'bedded in' but still very discrete considering it only has the one silencer. I love it. Go for the centre silenced system if you really want it quiet, though

I think after some long hard thinking i'm swaying towards Janspeed. After reading the thread Munson posted it's made me want a Janspeed. Thank you for the post to Munson!

RS192, I hate loud systems and the RS192 is excellent IMHO. At steady cruising speeds it's hard to notice any increase in noise over the stock system. It is louder (deeper) at idle and at full throttle but you never get any annoying drone or resonance inside the cabin.

Cool. It's just my personal experience. Ultimately, one has to bite the bullet and take a punt. I'm 100% happy with my system. I also never realised just how gay the OEM tailpipes are. The Janspeed/K-tec slash cut pipes look the business.

There is a janspeed listed on ebay it was listed for a 172 I told the seller it was for a 182 so search for both I was gutted as I want rid of my Blue Flame! and a Janspeed for my 172!:dapprove:

I have just fitted a decat to my Milltek and it is not very quiet at all. It is Epic though. I love it.


I've had the Milltek replaced once though due to the welds failing, but this seems to have been addressed and (touch wood) no problems so far.

My Magnex is very quiet, sounds good at 5k+ and doesn't sound any different in normal driving.
