Whats this on my radiator?!

ok so got the dci all back together after i ran out of tallent during a colin mcrae moment lol

went to fill it up with coolant (was drained due to hole in the radator, brand new one fitted) and the coolant started pissing out thought oops forgot the bottom radiator hose but found this threaded hole in the radiator and as you can see there is a recess in the fan to show it just dont know whats ment to go there? assuming its for a different model with something mine doesnt have!!!

looks like a mk1 172 rad, i maybe wrong!

its the exact shape and size of the one that came out, looks identical just that threaded hole is confusing me, looks like the type of hole you would put a thermostat in etc?

yeah i can't remember which model uses it, but they do have a sensor in there, any part numbers on it?

lol the carboard bin was getting emptied as i was fitting it so me being mr tidy threw the box out lol so no part numbers its a valeo one, but from motor factors not reanult

that must be what it is then, thats a start, if there cheap enough ill get one just to plug the gap lol!

will be for a fan switch. Rad specialist we use supplies bungs for things like this when a rad is multi application, you might get lucky if you ask the place you got the new one

after a bit of research looks like its M22 x 1.5 incase anyone comes across this problem!
