its some sort of brace, looks like the brace that joins the bottom arm to the shell at the front but its not that as it has 1 end different.

that's the dogbone re-enforcing brace. Goes from the front dogbone bolt, forwards, to the bottom of the gearbox

it's just different from the subframe brace. The hook locates on the box casing.
