He's been YouTube'ing for ages... He started out as a BMX'er with a cute girlfriend and it just went from there.Loads of mentions for Adam LZ in here, I've only recently heard of him because people started tagging him on my Insta posts saying I'd copied his Evo. What's he famous for, he's got 1m+ followers.

Donut Media - recently did a comparison of two 350Z they bought, one got all the best parts thrown at it, the other got cheap knock offs, it was interesting!

The daft thing for me, is they could/should have started doing everything with the car stating they wanted a 200+ bhp 4x4 mini but the engine/box was undecided.
Patreon then in effect pays for and buy the correct engine/box/drivetrain. The Celica ST engine is such a crap/odd choice.
If it’s any consolation someone I race with is building an impreza drivetrain’ed mini and another has an 870bhp Quattro converted Mini.
Still love seeing Binky though. Neither of those cars are still capable of seating 4 people, neither has aircon, neither has a stereo, neither really looks like a ‘normal’ mini and neither ‘make the noise’ when you put a spirit level on it.
Also it’s important to remember that this is 200bhp in something that probably still weighs less than a tonne, so it’ll still be quick. It’s more about all the funky engineering solutions they come up with though, it’ll be a shame when it’s finished.

Isn't the gearbox/driveline notoriously agricultural and heavy?
I only hope it's quick enough to warrant the work, be slightly embarrassing if some yahoo with a homebuilt R1 engined car was running circles around it.
Mind you it's all about the YouTube views, which the current setup seems perfect for.
It’s not really about being the fastest mini though. If they wanted to build a fast mini quickly they could have done it in a fraction of the time. This is about build quality.

The uk car builders all seen very cliche. They also seem to have a thing about modding expensive cars that they have got on pcp. Stupidity. One guy even made a video about getting his M4 repossessed because BMW found out he'd done several s**t 'mods'

I've never listened to a pod cast before but downloaded some of the Chris Harris collecting cars ones before I went on a long flight. Very good listen and he needs to do them more often.
I think there has only been one episode so far that I've turned off before the end and that was the one were he had someone stand in for him.
Oh and I did wonder why he was talking so fast but then I realised I'd turned the speed up on my phone. No idea why you need that function.

When my mate worked there he said that customers would come and spend 10 grand on a scabby old Golf. Since he's left their business has only gone up and up, they've blown DervTech and Narco out of the water completely imo. I'm second-guessing on who to take my Megane to for mapping as a friend of mine has been to Dervtech for his 175 mapped and he says they're spot on, but then others have said they're useless. Suppose you get mixed reviews about anything these days
It's gonna be ED, DervTech or Darkside. Not entirely sure if Scof will touch it with a Decat and DPF hollowed
