Wheel bearing help...

Car  White Evo V
The wheel bearing has gone on the front of my 172. Is it something I can do myself or do the bearings need to be pressed in? Has anyone got any experience with this? Also I spoke to the local garage, they want £30 plus the price of the bearing, is that a good price?

For £30 plus parts let the garage do it. If you are keen with the spanners though, it is easy to do.

Its not easy to do at all. The front hubs rust badly, the bearing is pressed into the hub, you need about 10tonnes of pressure to push the old bearing out and the new one in. if you want to save some cash, take your hubs off, take them to the garage with some new bearings and pay them a tenner to press them in.
