Wheel bearing woes!

A couple of weeks ago I started to hear this weird noise which almost sounded like something rubbing on one of the tyres. It was speed related and got louder the faster I went. I couldnt see anything that could be causing it so guessed it was a wheel bearing problem.

After a week it got very loud (seemed to only be noisey on the inside) and as my car was due for its first MOT I thought I would see what they would find!

Sure enough I got a phone call to say it had failed due to a very rough offside rear wheel bearing (which was probably also making a lot of noise!). It was gonna be £110 inc. to fix and as I had heard it was a fairly tricky job without the right tools I told them to do it.

All was fine until this weekend I started to hear the beginings of the same problem. Its also coming from the rear but I cannot work out which side. Can I be so unlucky that the other side has gone also?! I know 17" rims put more stress on them but both within two weeks? If its the same side do you think they will fix it for free?

Doh!

Well the other side will have done the same mileage (I asume!) so it is possible. I would have thought that they should fix it for free if it is the same sie
