wheel noise, any ideas

ive had my 16v a month now and its great :D. everything seems ok except the knockin from the front left wheel.

its a knocky grindy kind of noise thats not constant usually at slower speeds and tighter bends. ive jacked it up and wobbled the wheel. 12-6oclock its great but 9-3 oclock theres a bit of play on both sides of car. the suspensions standard i think. ie the front seems noticeably higher than the rear??

what you reckon. i want to drive the car properly but the noise his stoppin me

cheers mike

Wheel bearing sounds like. Is it a huummmmmm ing noise?

Front seems higher than the rear? Never heard that before. My Valver has a much bigger gap between arch and wheel at the back on stock suspension.

its a knockin noise. about year and half ago it went into reno for a check. it said 1 front shock gone and both springs broken?? but no receipt for repair. but it passed the mot last year so it cant be that?

Could be the driveshaft outer CV joint. Check the gaiter for any signs of leakage. If it only happens at low speeds and on a lock, chances are its the CV joint.
