Wheel Refurb

Thinking of refurbing my wheels but I've never EVER done anything like this so not sure if it's worth it! But, as reading in a lot of posts on here, if it goes wrong I can always get them done professionally.

Is it worth me getting an old alloy from the scrap yard and having a "practise run" maybe?

Ive done it twice on my alloys, did they in october and again yesterday just to freshen them up. Peice of piss to do

Really? Had a look on some of the guides and it seems simple enough, just doing it lol... any tips?

did you use the wet/dry and filler and halfords primer etc or something better??

Are you going a different colour?

When mine were silver I used a 800 grit to sand down, prep is key and is important all parts of the wheel are keyed down. wipe off excess dust etc then get on with masking around the tyre. I used two primers for 4 wheels, two gloss blacks and two laquers. Lightly spray each layer, then give it 20mins or so between each layer. Shouldnt take long to dry as you only do small layers. Did mine first before the winter and only had a few chips on them, did them again because the tyre fitters took some paint off them. They look mint now because I only had to go over with a few coats of black and laquer - job done

Sweeet. Will have a bash in the next few weeks hopefully so will let you know how it goes!
