Wheel spraying black?

How hard is it to do yourself? Would love to make my wheels black, I have 17" wolfrace urban races in shadow chrome but would really like them black, but cant afford like £40 a wheel at moment to get them done! ne1 done it b4?

my local bodyshop have been doing a set for what seems like an eternity. few people have done it on here, but mainly using hammerite on track wheels.

to actually spray and mask them off wouldnt be too difficult. the only matter of concern would be ensuring you get a really good lacquer coat so that the paint doesnt corrode with the brake dust and general rubbish off the roads.

mmmm intresting , yea cos i would be willing to be patient and sand them down properly and spend hours sanding and spraying etc.. as long as it dont start flaking or anything and I know exactly what I need.

I did my track day wheels in black hammerite, onyl a few chips after a few trackdays....cost a tenner too

what about if i used it for everyday use? still give a nice shine? or can u see all brush strokes?

piss easy.... use hammerite spray! not brush on paint!!! make sure u rub them right down tho

patty, is it a gloss or matt finish ? and how long have yours lasted so far? any cracks etc??

think you can get it in smooth satin, not sure on gloss.
