Wheels, suspension and brake setup

  Bumblebee
I have a clio mk2 ph1 172 and looking to uprate the corner set up.

Wanting to go for the 16" speedline turini wheels, but wanting to take a notch off the higher stance. Wanting to lower it about 25 - 30mm.

Also wanting to fit uprated brake discs but standard calipers.

Any advice?? :approve:

i've kept the standard wheels, but i've fitted driled discs, pagid pads and goodrich brake hoses
-instant pedal, no fade whatsoever and no noise!
-i know drilled rotors can crack with age, but i've never had a problem

Just get some more aggressive pads Mintex, Pagid, P/F, FERODO

the discs and pads are from bbpt, phone them. and the hoses are from cupsize (on here), pm him

y0z2a on here or FredDynamic2001 run www.Yozzasport.com and do deals, though others to try are German Swedish and French car partrs (GSF for short), or Ktec or BB Performance Tuning do their own choices of pads and discs.

I went for Yozzasport recommended Pagid Blues with Brembo Max grooved discs and uprated goodrich brake lines, a lot like benji&eka above, and I've not been disappointed - I can only echo what he's said, in that there's instant bite (including from cold) and no fade, even after an hour on track.

I'm sure that others will have their recommendations too though! :)

Again cheers for the advice. Just purchased an OMP front and rear strut brace, so the car should be pretty nicely set up!:approve:

Hiya,

I've done a similar thing to what you want:

1) 16" OZ Superleggs (saved 4-5kg on each wheel) (different offset so 16mm wider track)
2) Eibach sportline springs (lower 30mm front, 25mm rear)
3) Ferodo DS2500 pads
4) goodrige brake hoses and castrol superdot4 brake fluid

Handles: LOVELY! Superbly neutral through the bends.

A rear strut brace doesnt do anything other than get in the way.

you could try playin about with it (the rear one)
it normally bolts to the strut top on the back (the one i seen did anyway)
i think if it was welded to the turret high up, then a triangular affair with a peice of box (or tube) coming from each end and meeting in the center rear of the boot, welded together and then to the rear of the car. it may produce some positive results
-if you get what i mean :s
