Why wouldn't they say nearside/offside?
I can never remember which is which, like port and starboard. Nearside = Passenger side?
Nothing. But nearside and offside is just another way to refer to it.
Like you sometimes see 'NSR' or 'RF' labelled on track tyres.
Well hopefully the next time I hear either, i'll think of this thread and remember which is which.

When someone is referring the left or right of the car am i right to assume this is from the perspective from sitting in the car ? so if someone says 'your right rear wheel has a puncture' they mean the drivers rear ??
