Could this be the alarm switch above your right headlight ?
As the wee black bit above it looks like the prong type switches they use to determine whether the bonnet is opened or closed.
The only difference with yours is the prong/rod is missing that usually moves in and out if you push it down and release it.
This is what tells the alarm system whether the bonnet is opened or closed (these as usually fitted near the battery)
One way to confirm if it is a broken prong switch is to look behind the slam panel and right headlight and see if theres any wiring going to that area or check to see if there is any wiring loose.
Heres the type of switch i though was broken on your car but in this pic it has a chrome surround.
The alarm bonnet switch on this Rs Clio is different to the type of switch one i posted above as the type and look of the switch will vary from system to system i guess.
how do you know its an import??
Imports usually have no window etchings, alarm, and locking nuts etc.
Which may explain why some have different types of alarm systems compared to other Rs Clios as imports usually have aftermarket alarms if lucky
