If I was going to buy another 200 I would gladly pay an extra £1,000 for liquid yellow or alien green. I paid £5,500 for a 70,000 mile glacier white 200 Cup with Recaros in April 2020.
Watching the prices on FB groups I reckon colours of AG or LY (and currently PW) add more like £3k to the ‘asking’ price of a 200.
I’d love to know why the 200 feels like it does. I can’t see it’s just weight as it’s more the way the engine feels in the mid range plus shouldn’t the gearing help?. My mate drove mine the other day (he has a 182) and he said if he didn’t know he’d say it was 150bhp. I was trying to get him to thrash it but I don’t think he got past the completely different response and feel below 4krpm.
The 200 is more like a civic type r than a 172/182 (my Mrs has an fn2)
I reckon 250bhp would be perfect in a 200 but how do you get there! Go SC and spend £10k for it to feel similar with the power still all at the top.
One thing I’d love to drive is a 200 engine in a 172/182. That’d be interesting, would it feel better or worse.
