Where to mount phone inside car

I don't really like the idea of one of the gay 'stick on your windscreen and have a really long bendy arm' holders, so what other options do I have? I wouldn't mind something a bit lower down near the glove compartment or something.

My phone's a Nokia E71 if that makes any difference.

Any interesting places you mount your phones or iPods when driving?

Didn't that blow all hot air onto it though when you were driving? I've considered those but that's what was putting me off!

What are those old skool mobile holders that all the reps used to have, mounted to something underneath the glovebox area...

Have you ever thought of buying a Parrot hands free kit I love them you just keep your phone in your pocket heres the one thats going in the 182 http://www.parrot.com/uk/products/hands-free-car-kits PARROT MKi9200
I wouldn't bother, they drop bluetooth a lot. The Parrot mk6000 is far better in my experience. The display's redundant as the system speaks the name of the caller (once you've set voice dialling up), and it's bloody annoying at night having a bright display in your peripheral vision (hence why my 3200 will be replaced soon!).

I want to be able to see the sat nav on my phone though. My headunit got nicked so I'm leaving that standard now!
You can still leave your phone out with a parrot kit fella. I do.

Yeah I considered those too, but my new phone has a sat nav on so I want to be able to see it when I'm driving.

Would have got a Parrot if it wasn't for this!

Vent clips I would say, CPW about a tenner I think.

Or infront of the radio/clock display? I want to make a mount for an iPhone there so can see sat nav without looking down.

Should be easy to do. I did one for a 172 using the iphone adaptor plate I got with some ipod speakers. Took the dash top off, cut a hole in the cubby space above the clock, then screwed in the adaptor job, away you go.

ive mine mounted in the centre air vents. got it from halfords year or 2 ago. fits perfect, no wobble and fully adjustable. ive had an e65, 6500 and now a sony ericsson c905 in the holder and no problems fitting it. would probably expand to fit pda or blackberry size tbh

I've one of these which is made specific for Clio, two different versions depending on where you want the phone. The other one covers the vents. You also need the bracket to fit onto it particular to your phone but they have a good selection.

Was gonna say, try the Brodit ProClip. They are amazing. Very good fit to car and holds the phone perfectly. Bit steep on price though.
