Where's the master cylinder?

I know, silly question but I can't find it and I need to top up the brake fluid...It's not where I thought it was which is under the PAS fluid reservoir :S :S it's a 2001 172

Help!

couldn't see the wood from the trees becasue of that fancy engine cover nonsense, didn't have one on my old car (excuses, excuses)
