Which Brakes - Discs/Pads? Help please

Right, I just spent £400 on service and £200 on tyres and now i need to get new brakes all round. Therefore I'm looking for a decent set that don't cost the earth!

I'm not sure how much to spend or where to buy from so any recommendations would be much appreciated.

Should I avoid Ebay 'packages'?

I'd go for brembo HC discs, with ferodo DS2500, and some goodridge hoses.

But as Fletcher says, that combo is killer on a Clio. I have that, but with Mintex 1144 pads, such an improvement over the standard brakes.
