I am currently driving a mk2 ph2 1.2 16v 5door, which belongs to my mum lol and i dont know what to buy for myself, my budget is about 2k, and im 19 and have no ncb, being a named driver ftl anyways i was thinking maybe a ph1 1.4 sport? or a 1.6 rxe? any help would be great, thanks!

Depends whether you want anything nippy, like the 1.6 rxe, or newer and slower? 1.2 16v ph2?

Have you looked into insurance on the 1.6 or what not first?

I'd check out the insurance because a 1.6 probably won't cheap at 19 with 0 NCB. Get a 1.2 build up your no claims then get something bit faster.

Get a mk2 ph1 1.2 16v sport. Will deffo pick a very clean one up for less than £2k and they are really nice little cars.

I doubt you'll get a sensible insurance quote on anything over a 1.2 if you have no no claims.

thats why i thought about the 1.4 sport as its a similar power output to the 1.2 16v i have now, got quoted just short of 2k for a 1.6, not prepared to pay that much tbh, so i think i'll go with a 1.4, more monies for mods

Have you done any insurance quotes? I'd be doing that before looking for cars.

Yeah, 1.6's are around 2k, 1.4 was about 1100, dci 65 1300.
