Hi detailers!

I'm looking to move onto lambs wool from the MF mitts i've been using. Which one/brand do you recommend?

im also using lambswool atm but wanting something a bit more stubborn but soft aswell....cant you get synthetic lambswool ones?

I use the Meguiars one, and have been for the past 2 years, my first one lasted just over a year using it once a week, so they are well worth the 10 quid.
I can't comment on any other makes though as that is the only one i have had but i can recommend it.
I am not sure about synthetic lambswool, may as well go for a plush MF one.

A Sonus lambs wool mit as recommended by Rich (the guru). I've been very pleased with it's performance, keeps the swirl marks to a minimum. Always washed after usage though. Seems quite well made also.:)

Have used the serious performance own brand ones they are good but im quite happy with my tilers grout sponge from B&Q no swirling to date

I have a few of the Serious Performanace grey ones, 1 fell apart after about 2 months :S

Find all lambswool mitts can be hit or miss regardless of brand, sometimes they last ages sometimes they die after a few uses. Guess it comes of them being natural must get a duff sheep from time to time.

Got fed up of having a silly looking wool mit on my hand for the time being so thought id try out one of these:

Good so far.

It all depends how you wash them, apparently you have to wash them by hand and not leave them in direct sunlight to dry.

I use both lambs wool and MF, Mf to get flys and clean under the sideskirts.

I have tried most of them, and the Eurow ones are my favourites - as are their drying towels :)

Thanks for the input everyone. Think i'm going to order the Eurow one for now.

Does anyone have an issue getting the lambswool mitts to dry properly? Mine dries on the outside no problem but the inside of it seems to hold water forever and it makes it smell really musty :(

You can get a bucket-mate which wraps around your bucket in Tesco that lets you put your bottles / mitts sponges in. Gives you somewhere to hang them whilst you polish / wax etc leaving them to dry :)

Meggys wash mit, got it for a tenner... seems awesome so far, although only done about 5 washes with it!...

When washing lambs wool mitts do you just chuck them in the washing machine?

I dont...I soak mine in the sink with some warm water and rinse through after on cold. Mine have never been dirty. Although I now use a "noodle" washmitt as I found the synthetic lambswool mitts caused quite a few scrathes on the car. Since using the noodle there is bugger all.

**If they are getting filthy then maybe use some white vinegar..should clear off some s**t and not effect the mitt.

**I think :o

^^^ That fucker caused s**t laods of random surface scrathes on mine...I pc'd it and ran using one of them for a year and the surface marks were crazy.

PC'd again slightly and have been using the noodle one for almost a year now...no-where near as many surface scrathes.

Supernatural one. Or i used to use the megs, they were pretty good.

Used a fair few others and i have to say the longest lasting i ever had, and still have 3 years on but dont use, is the halfords one, its black.

Holy bump.

I'm onto the Megs one now. I swear they must just come out the same factory as the Eurows

I decided that the lambs wool mitt was useless anyway so I've bought a turtlewax ice microfibre mitt now. Much better and no dirt or grit caught in it..
