Had the 172 for a couple of months now. It replaced a 200sx and . has completely fulfilled my expectations - virtually as quick and a whole lot more fun to throw around.
Anyhow, noticed a few day ago (as actually had stereo off) that when pulling off briskly in 1st with left hand lock I get quite a loud whining noise which gradually disappeared as I straightened-up. Wasnt too concerned but noticed today when pushing it around a roundabout in 2nd that I could hear the same noise in the background.
Is this normal or should I add it to my list of evidence to get a new gbox out of renault???
It also clonks into 1st and is occasionally crunchy into 3rd. Ive let them change the gbox oil so far so am working up to a full-on complaint. A shame as Im otherwise really happy with it. Its on 24k by the way.
