who has sold their cup in the region on 6k? recently?

as in the title, has anyone actually managed to sell their cup? for around the 6k mark?

trying to sell mine and its doing my nut, i thought there'd be loads of interest because of what it is, like with any RS 182.172 etc..

i cant believe how much they have dropped in price!

I sold mine for 6.5k about three months ago and I though that was cheap!

Was an 03 plate on 36k if I recall.

mines 52 plate with 29k.

i dont think the 197 has much to do with the drop becuase theres such a big difference in price. and plus, imo it looks w**k.

It was on here, Autotrader and Piston heads.

I had the odd message through here and piston heads (all a waste of time).

Had quite a few calls through trader once I dropped it from 6.9k to 6.5k.

Bought mine for £6150 (52, 33K) two weeks ago off autotrader if thats any help. Saw yours on here (and pistonheads too?) when I was looking. Seemed a fair price and condition to me, the distance away was the only reason I did'nt consider buying yours.

I think the thing with the cup is that it is fairly specialised, in that only enthusiasts really understand what it is. Joe Public generally does'nt, and so just sees its lack of toys / driver aids / leather trim as a reason to choose a standard 172 over a cup. Although of course the cup does look the nuts over a standard 172!

Was a bit more that other I looked at but none had as low milage and none of them were as clean.


I think the milage and condition plays a big part in the sellng price of these cars.


To get the best price i've been told that the more standard it is the better.


I looked a three others before I bought mine and they were CRAP,Infact it almost put me off of buyng one.
