Who would you get to build an F4r race engine?

  Clio 182, 911
I had a chat with Mark Fish a while ago and he certainly seems my first choice amongst the few options I've looked at so far. Just wondered if anyone had any experience/input that could help me with my decision.

If you can stretch to it then Mark Fish will do you well and then there's Fred at BTM and Dan at 519, both of whom have built very competitive F4's for use in various competition series.

I'm no engine builder so I won't give you any advice other than these two snippets:

1 - Go to someone with a proven history
2 - Don't cheap out

  DON'T SEND ME PM'S!!
Me ;)
Look at Burpspeed and Toastfrenzy engine builds in the project section for proven recent track record. I'm re-building Tonys very shortly to keep up with the raised level of competition.

Proven history is what I'm after really, also nothing about these engines is cheap!
I will talk to these guys too. Thanks

Purely depends on what you'd class as a 'race engine'. A simple 220-240 build go to the people above, above that its probably better to go to somewhere like Pure Motorsport/Sandy Brown/Colin Satchell or Ashford Motorsport.

Probably looking at a basic N/A reliable engine built well within tolerances

Yeah I'd just go with one of the traders on here then like Mike Woodford/Fred@BTM/Danny@519 etc.

Just research very well on who you get to map it, that's the key to how long the engine will last...

Ok, thanks.

Who would you recommend for mapping it?

Oh Hai.

Waiting for my roll centre kit to arrive, so I can then get the car off the trailer and get the engine out.

Test day booked on the 28th Feb.

Buy a spare engine and do it yourself :)

I said I was after a reliable engine, not sure this would be the best way to achieve that! I'm looking to do most of the rest of the project myself, except roll cage fitting and suspension set up etc. just bought a replacement engine, but I'd rather give it to a talented technician I think...

Thanks for all your input guys, its much appreciated. I will chat to Fred, Dan, Danny and Mike in the new year.
