Totally gutted. Rear wing and door keyed.

Only took the car out of the garage yesterday for the weekend.

Ive got protected no claims on my insurance will this cover it you reckon?

it will cover it, but you will still have made a claim, so when you do insurance next time you have to say you have claimed, so protected no claims is b****cks really

If its any consolation, one whole side of my car was re-sprayed while in the care of Dai - and its the best match Ive ever seen. My mums Dynamique has also just come back after a rear-ending and is perfect too.

Find a good place and youll never know it had been painted at all.

I know its not going to put things right, but youll get it back looking A1 in no time at all.

Any decent bodyshop should be able to respray just the scratch and surronding areas and blend in it to the rest of the panel.

Shouldnt cost too much really, better than making a claim......

check your policy for any compulsory and voluntary excesses, most companies that allow you to protect your NCD do allow you on average 2 claims in 3 years before withdrawing the protected facility, but a good idea to sit down and work out the "pros and cons", best of luck.

Cheers guys, what a fooker.. although a development has happend.......

One of my mates is a Sprayer so woke him up this morning and went to see him about the 2 and a half foot long scratch. He looked at it and said its a renault i dont think it will sand out due to the thin paint and laqour on the car...

Anyhow, he said he may as well have a go as there is nothing to loose.

He spent 15 mins on it and couldnt believe how much paint and laqour there is on the car, he said its better than a VW or a BM...after lots of sanding with the right material he managed to get rid it nearly completely, he said there must have been 3/4 coats of laquor on the car and the scratch was very deep.

He then used the buffing machine to finish off. And hey presto the car is back to its former mint condition. No paint used what so ever. However the area of chav attack is very thin on paint but hey its not noticable now.

If i showed you a picture this morning of what it was like, you guys would have probably thought it would defo need a respray as it was quite clearly deep and very visable but thanks to the thick layer of paint and laquor we managed to get rid of it just.

So any cups/172 who have got keyed, remember my one had amazing amounts of laquor which enabled the deep scratch to disappear with a bit of work without the need of respraying.

I also got it done free of charge which was a bonus so i recommended him to al the other car owners in the road...he may get a bit of business now lol

If anyone needs a v.good sprayer in the South East West Sussex area please let me know and ill give you his details. Remember colours like silver are not good to work on but darker colours are better.

I wont be keeping the car out on the road again, the mindless b******s who did this need a good beating, they have nothing better to do than piss people off.

Its ok saying youll kick the crap out of them but this never really solves the problem.

Happened to me before where the cars where getting done every weekend, and I mean EVERY weekend, but we could never catch them. One night I looked out the window and seen 3 guys coming along the street, I waited to see if they done anything and guess what, they tried to punch in my window.

I ran out of the house, cleared my gate and flew at the guy who done it. KOd and out for the count the guy who done it was obviously taught a lesson, then I realised I was standing in the middle of the street, 2 guys against me and their mate beat 2 a pulp. To my EXTREME luck an off duty police officer walked by as me and the other 2 were in the "ready to go for it" situation. The other prat gradually came round and the three of them done a runner.

Not only was I lucky that the other 2 never had a serious go at me, I worried for ages that they where gonna come back in bigger crowds, with weapons..etc, throw bricks through my parents windows, petrol bomb my car, whatever.

Just no winning
