I had exactly this mate, turned out to be a 270 degree crack running all the way around the conical end of the cat, the crack was being forced open on acceleration and making a loud barpppp sound, similar to a blowing exhaust but a bit sharper. Get your car on a ramp with someone in the drivers seat giving it short taps on the fun pedal, if you get underneath it won't take long to work out where it is coming from..

not really mate, perfect excuse to fit a de-cat and boy what a difference it makes combined with an remap!

Luckily I got a 182 cat of ebay for peanuts, I'm sure they are something silly like £600 new!?

If it does turn out to be your cat mate you can have mine off me as I bought it in case my Ktec silenced de-cat I had altered didn't fit properly.

UPDATE ON THE FART!!

its actually coming from the front left wheels/brake area! and it occours wen braking and sliding on ice although its to do with the brakes?? :S

so it does it wen 1st setting off from cold (reverse and forward), and does it when
braking on ice...
