Whos done an engine conversion in essex? Help needed

  RB 182 Cup
Right basically got a project starting up at the minute and need a helping hand from someone whos already done a conversion.

Right the project is take everything from my clamborghini and put it in a van i.e engine, suspension, wheels, bumpers, seats the lot. If i have a car which is fully running and working will the conversion be easy? Will the engine fit straight in? will i have to make any mounts or anything?

First petrol clio van? Clamborghini van lol

Thanks

Alex

Surely it would be easier to buy a Van or Take the Rear seats out of you car and make it a van as such.

Transplanting a 1.4 engine in to a van seems like a lot of effort for nothing.

But if you car runs, and the engine is going in to another clio there shud be no major issuse.

What im doing is buy a van so i have 2 runing cars, then changing everything over to the van if that makes sense. Sounds a simple swap over everything job but need to know if the engine slots straight in to the diesel mounts?

why do the covnersion though?? Fail to see what benefit this will have? if you dont want the rear quarter windows get them removed and a piece of metal welded in! Easier option surely?

converting from diesel to petrol. PITA. Majorly not worth the hastle, especially for a 1.4 16v. the DCI engine is great to start with, and with a 100 setup, quite fast, and £35 a year tax

Have u lost the plot alex?

I dont think a van will go down as well at pipps hill mate lol.

Gonna be much slower too.

to convert a diesel to a petrol is really not worth it with the ammount of work required, thats before we get to the fact its a better engine your removing!!

now, for MUCH less hastle and money you could buy the dci65 van, use a set of dci 80/100 (same on both) injectors, DCi 100 Turbo, DCi 100 or aftermarket intercooler and a remap would see around 125/130bhp and around 190lb/ft of torque, if you find an uprated clutch then your looking at over 200lb/ft of torque, get yourself custom injectors and now the skys your limit, 300bhp+ if you want

DCi van wont have the £35 a year tax that the car has tho due to it being a comercial iirc, best bet is convert a clio car to a van if thats what you want ;)

I get paid next week and its either buy a van or i can get a 172 cup conversion including rear beam with discs etc for £500... Im liking the van idea as i like to be different and a white colour coded dynmique van with my wheels and engine etc on would be rare as fook.

Ben The van should technically be lighter! pipps hill is dying down now and ive been going lakeside!! i would post up the 80mph roundabout tripod video in the clamborghini haha but i'll probably get called a chav and nobody will help me with a conversion!!!

It seems a complete waste of time & money to me. As already said you may as well just strip the rear of your car out & weld the rear windows up with metal.
Or if you want to do a conversion, make it worthwhile, 2.0 the car up, or just buy one.

I roffled at Pipps Hill, what a dive, ned tastic lol ! Lakeside isn't much better either, i often see the of 'the cool kids' parked up round there.

EPIC FAIL ON SO MANY LEVELS - - - the 1.5dci engine prob be more fun to drive than the 1.4 petrol anyway...even the 65bhp one! haha

i strongly advise you re-think you project idea

mini-valver

Van panels to replace your rear quarter glass and paint it white.

If you wanna be different thats fine, but nobody will be interested in a 1.4 van mate.

Much better off to buy a van and put a 2.0ltr in that, much more worthwhile if your into that sort of thing.
