Who's got Decat for Std 182 System fitted.

  Italian 3.2 V6
Any good? Would you recomend one?

Does it make the car a little more free reving, louder etc?

I had one on my standard system for a while, didnt make much difference to the noise, felt easier to rev but that might be just a 'placebo' affect.

Ok, only ask as I should be booked in with jms next week (if they get back to me :( ) and just wondered if I'd be missing out much without a decat.

with a standard system i would say your not missing out on much but with a aftermarket system it could release more power and a bit more noise

No insurance company i know covers you if you have a decat.

I find it hard to believe insurance companies will cover a car that is not road legal . .

Will fail an MOT so is not in a road worthy condition, even if it has a current MOT just decatted after it still does not matter, else if your car has bald tyres but a current MOT it is still illegal.

Ive got one on mine. Got a yozza fitted, sounds ok (not the best sound ever), revs well, and seems to pull abit better. But that could be me thinking about it too much!

There is nothing in the MOT that states that you must have a cat fitted, if it passes the emissions part of the MOT with decat in place then it is road legal.

My decat is also declared on my insurance policy.

Bye now.

Ok I guess you could insure it as a modification I supose! But it would invalidate your insurance through it subsiquently failing the MOT? I suppose they have to prove it would fail and if you have wrecked your car it could be difficult to prove
