Why are there so many people with N/S rear caliper problems?

Ive come to investigate the rumbling i've had on the rear end and while the wheels were off i've found the n/s caliper is seized and the pad down to metal, been searching for a bit on the forum and it seems its a really common problem, cant help but wonder why?

Anyone have any ideas? Just wondering if its something 'we' can do to stop it happening again..

s**t caliper's the same are used on saxo VTS, 306 gti6 and 205 iirc

The gaiters have always seemed a bit s**t to me.

Up until now I've never had a problem an I've owned numerous saxos an clios. I have noticed the amount of threads though.

had my passenger replaced around 18 month's ago and now it seems my drivers is quite sticky now, will take it off and give it a good clean/grease up
