Spent an hour tonight playing with a couple of quote and came to the conclusion that I'll have to ring a few specialists if I don't want to completely write off the VTEC next year 1200 is a completely unjustifiable amount, and I have spent the past week trawling classified etc for some rwd 9k rpm goodness...

Have the same problem for my 1.2!!! Best thing to do is phone some companies thats where I got the best results!! I was getting £7,000 quotes for a cliosport on that site!!!

Admiral is consistently cheapest for me on confused, moneysupermarket and meerkat... The 182 quote there is with declared alloys, exhaust and coilovers as well, hence it being nearly on a par with the VX.

I fear that sky, CKnott and flux won't touch me on 2000 as I'll only be 23 next year

My GF lives in your neck of the woods... 350 mile round trip every other weekend at 20mpg (wish I could afford that lol), as soon as I'm settled a chim, griff or tamora will top the list

I guessed this was the case. Unfortunately I don't deem myself to fall into that stereotypical bracket, however the bracket exists and you can't argue with the stats.

Those quotes are based on 22 years old (23 in Feb 2012) 5 1/2 years licence, 5 years no claims (now protected), no points or convictions, and Mum named on the policy, postcode is DA14 which statistically isn't the greatest despite being an alright area.

E46 M3 came in at 1400... On the plus side a Z3m Roadster was 800 odd... but again, both will be out of budget next year along with the Tamora

350 is a potential, but it screams, lardy, heavy and not as fun, especially after reading Jenic's thread...

As above, turbocharged. And she'll be ditching the run flats in favour of some holts tyre weld!! For her needs the mini is comfortable, easy to drive, quick enough and has lazy power on tap even in 6th on the motorway at 70/80.

Potentially silly reasoning but car hunting is good fun and it got me in the mood for a change up. Will most definitely run the 182 for at least another 6 months I'd imagine. But the rwd itch needs scratching...

So I've heard!! Undoubtedly very capable but apparently a bit gutless at motorway speeds in comparison to the VXT... Still if I cant get the 2000 a vx is a very worthy second choice.
