will i need new wiring for new speakers?

I have just ordered myself a set of alpine type r components off car audio direct to run off of my head unit (Head unit rated at 50wx4) and would like to know whether the wiring in the car from the standard speakers will be sufficient to run the new speakers?

Also what is the best way to connect the components to the head unit and where to place the crossover box?

standard wiring will be fine
hide the crossover behind the plastic near the footwell
i used the original wiring up until the point where it goes through the door
then cut the wiring added the crossovers used the original wiring going through the door and then used my own for the tweeters
