Will this invalidate my warrenty

hey everyone....

Ive got a new clio on the way... the 1.2 16v Dynamique which comes with the free insurance....

& I was wondering what will invalidate the warrenty or void the insurance?
Coz ive got lowering springs to put on & ordering alloys soon & got a few other things planned... just wondering if anyone has had experience with this & knows what goes and what doesnt ??

cheers all

The insurance conditions are that mods up to £1000 are ok providing they were supplied and fitted by a Renault Dealer. For mods up to £250 the excess goes up by £100 and for mods between £250 and £1000 the excess goes up by £150

Ok im starting to get it...

Just a pity I havent got much of my stuff from renault really!!! lol

so if i have a set of alloys, tints & springs that are worth say 950 notes... I would have to pay the normal excess plus 150? am i right?

thats the insurance sorted but the warranty is another story, it is like everythin else if you put non standard bits ie wheels and suspension on and you get a prob with ne thing even remotely linked to these parts reno will blame it on your mods and try to get off without a warranty claim, i thought i would do it another way by puttin reno wheels (172) on and now worried cause i am starting to hear knocking noises when goin over bumps or round corners. see the wheels arent the correct off set and for two days rubbed on the inner arches before i put spacers on but obviously the marks are still there so they gonna blame it on that if i take it in, no?!?!?!???

yeah thats what I thought the warrenty was about.... they dont really mind the mods... but if a problem occurs with the car & its cause of a mod, i.e. problem with suspension and uve lowered it then they will not repair it for free or pay out or whatever.

What are the things on engine mods??? what can u get away with & what are not allowed?

Sorry Jeremy, I know you know your stuff but I have to disagree, Renault free insurance - up to £3000 of mods covered, NO ENGINE MODS, although exhaust is just about ok if you speak to them as they do not class it as performance enhancing, and having the mods does NOTHING to your excess, I have just been through all this with them and I have done it about 6 times in the last nine months checking and re checking with them, They also additionally cover ICE for a further £1000.

Apologies if you have different information but I have this in writing from them so... I can only assume its right. :)

hmmmmm,Are you sure thats right noel???

Coz that sounds very good indeed.... I will have to ring them up.... Do you have renault free insurances number? and also the link to their website so I can print out their policies??
Coz I dont really wanna invalidate my warrenty or void my insurance!!
