Williams/16v oil pressure question

Ive noticed yesterday that when i accelerate over 4500 revs the oil pressure guage rises from 3bar to 6bar which is the max. Normal driving it sits around the 3bar mark. is this normal? or could there be a problem?

Cheers

Off the top of me head mate, mine idles at 3 Bar, and I know it rises very quickly. Never really noticed when it hits 6.

Ill find out and let u know.

im sure thats pretty normal , well ive heard the higher the pressure the better.

If u notice the pressure acts as a rev counter it goes up and down with the revs.Nothing to worry about if its getting up to 6..

Cool, Cheers guys. I hadnt noticed it before, tend to look where im going over 4500! just checking there wasnt a faulty valve or something, because it revs to 7200.

Thanks

Was driving home the other night and mate a note of my pressure!

70mph

3500RPM

Oil Temp 100oC

Engine Temp Just under 50%

Oil Pressure 3 Bar!

When cold my oil pressure sits high up in the 5-6 Bar area when warm and idling it sits about 1 BAr of pressure!!

Hope this helps!!

Mine has just started sitting very high when cold, about 5-6 like you guys say, whereas before it wasnt doing this..... v. weird!

erm people, its called viscosity change with temp!

your all experiencing the norm.
Guess its more exaggerated lately with the drop in outside temps, which is why we just noticed I suppose!!

No its been chipped and a few other bits and pieces. After going on a longer journey have noticed once its warm the pressure guage doesnt sit so high. For the reasons mentione above. Cheers guys thought id better check when i saw the problem

Thanks
