Williams Brakes are On!

So today was a busy day!

Woke up and went straight to Euro Car Parts to get some 16/Williams Discs and pads.. then on the trek to Birmingham to have them fitted at the famous, wel heated dudes garage!

So now they on.. pedal travel at the moment, is shorter.. but it will probably change when they bedded in - only 150 more miles to do and Ill be able to "stamp" the brakes.. haha (well, I did on the first test run, naughty!).

On the way home, they seemed to slow me down, which was good - but couldnt really brake hard - dont wanna do any damage like!

So anyone whos thinking about putting 16v/Williams Brakes on their car, Ill let you know performance wise, how improved they are over standard items in a few days!

Oh, thanks dude for doing them for me! That guys knows his stuff! :)

sounding good lad keep me updated, im lookin at this next 4 def,

was it jus a straight replacement, how long did it take?

patty

Straight replacement, took about 5 hours I think.. but that includes stripping and experimenting of the other brakes..

My calipers looked identical.. but in fact, they were very different - the 16v/Williams ones are longer in a few parts, meaning you have to change the WHOLE caliper.. and not just the carrier etc..

They look better too, cus they 259mm Discs.. rather than the smaller, Solid discs.. plus the caliper comes right out to the Alloy now - I doubt Id be able to put my steelies back on!

lol.....figures! hahaha

But your telling me you trecked down to birmingham to have somebody remove wheels, take off your discs and calipers, twist on the new ones and bolt it back up?

fair enough, i hope you paid him! lol

He knew what he was doing - I didnt.. Id rather have someone who knows what they are doing mess with my brakes than me.. rather than a small trek to his house..

Plus it was a good social visit.. heh.

This really is the sort of thing you should do yourself, its pretty easy and quite satisfying the first time you do it, gives you confidence to try more things but fair enough..lazy git! ;)

Bah, Weight knows what hes doing, I dont.. it makes sense..

Anyway, this isnt the point, the point is, I got Williams Brakes now.. Heh.
