Williams engines on ebay? Never seen one apart from the one Ive put on there.

I paid 1150 for mine fully fitted. :D

It makes me laugh when people say slap in a megane BE for £400 - try finding one. I agree that paying any more then £800 is OTT for a full blown williams engine! however people price them what ever they like cuz they know it will sell. Id sooner pay over the odds then have to spend my life searching for one at a decent price.

But as it happens i think i got a good deal anyway.

Ill let you know if its worth doing, car goes in Thursday for the convertion, i pick her up Tuesday!

paid 1k for mine 52k miles. engine, box, ecu, loom etc etc!

Lets not forget with the megane bottom end you will need a flowed/camd head!!!! ££££

yeah thats true. wont be that much quicker using a standard 1.8 head.

and before you think its just a grand to fit, look at stuff you ought to fit while you got the engine out. I must have spent £300 just on parts. But then again you dont need it all but better safe than sorry. and it saves in labour if they need changing later.

I got mine fitted for £200. But I would budget say a grand for engine max, engine fitting will probably be £300-£400 normally but I got it done by Red16 off the forum and I helped with the fitting so it only cost £200. Was over a days work and is bloody hard work too. Think we worked pretty much solid for 13-14 hours and still needed to finish it off the next day.

so all in all its gotta cost about £1500-£1800 all in to do it right.

Hes a member i think mate. he uses the forum anyway.

hes doing his own turbo conversion at the moment.

Top bloke and knows what he is doing. Trusted him completely with it. not had no problems with the engine since its been fitted either.

paid £600 for my willy engine with loom and ecu. But overall i spent about £1500 quid after stripping down the head enlarging the ports re lapping the valves, new head gasket set and bolts, thermostat, cambelt.idler wheel, piper cams, piper vernier pullys, hill power chip, all new oils, plugs, filters and stuff i cant remenber. I didnt pay any labour because me and my mate diid it all. iam happy with the cars performanc now but wouldnt do it again because french cars are sh*te to work on espacially small ones with big engines. i still have nightmares about torx bolts.

i know what you mean Chip16v about the nightmares! And im not just talking about mechanics of the engine in a small bay. I fitted some aftermarket MOMO polk door speakers, those torx screws and plastic clips had me pulling my hair out. Couldnt get the door cards off cuz the screws kept threading the clips - also the door handel grommet broke and i had nothing to secure the screw back into!! i cried for days..

Bloody french cars

But we love um :D

Didnt see me helping? Bloody cheek! I was out there in the car park on my hands and knees - but thats another story...

... and Issues? Issues aint the word chav... bloody nightmares! But thankfully nothing so silly as speaker screws ;)

Well lets hope ur car makes it to Derby - that wheel bearing is a little dodgy to say the least...cheapscate! Might be worth stopping off occasionally on the way up there to let it cool down... just a thought.
