1420 would be the lowest id imagine for your age, eperience and NCB TBH !! Especially on a willy !! Why not get a mint valver and willyfy it with a 2.0l ?

Most people dont.. best I had on confused was 1738 by Quote-A-Car.. and 1740 on Admiral (but then Admiral said it would be 2000+ when I rung?).
Anyway, I was sitting watching EastEnders last night.. and this Advantage rung me.. with the 1480.. or 1420 with CAT1.

I was getting quotes of 2k on my 1.2.. which is grp3/4.. (but I did want Fully Comp on that..)
I dunno, still debating whether its worth the double insuance (Valver would be £760 TPFT/Year.)
the handling can be bought up to willy level and double insurance is a bummer mate !! Especially as its gonna be the same EVERY year !!
yes but the difference between valver and willy insurance will always be there is what i was trying to say !!
Go with your heart !! If you want a willy and cann afford that insurance DO IT !! Id have a willy over a 2.0l valver anyday !! They are an ICON and future classics !! aswell as being best hot hatch of all time !!

Check out this months top gear, there is a article on the willy3, a few mistakes but a good read and it gives a 8-10year old car the thumbs up.
I met the photographer from CAR mag, he was driving one of those spitfires things, as soon as i said i had a willy it brought a smile to his face, he just said "now the williams is a car!"
daz i pay 1270 on a valver !! id pay the extra for a willy if theyd quote me !!
Maybe you could make a Valver grip as well as a Willy, but to make it handle as well youd need to basically fit Williams suspension (lot of bother) or be an expert in suspension set-ups to re-create the effect with off-the-shelf parts.
As it is, I dont think you can get Willy handling by lowering a Valver on coilovers as the Willy relies on the full suspension travel to give you what its best at (B-roads). Its much more controlled on, say, 50% of the suspension travel and reacts to input in a much friendlier way than my 16V did - both when it was standard and when it was lowered.
If youve got a good cashflow situation (can you tell Im a bean counter?) with lots of room to soak up some bills, then Id go for one of the cheaper Williams and do it up - giving you more money for that first insurance premium. Id say that the wheels will need refurbishing and bonnet/bumper/rear arches attended to whatever the price of the car (unless it was mine

But yea.. making a 16v like a Williams is a lotta work.. new axles for Track etc.. I would imagine.. Id rather go straight to a Williams.
