Michael - I just had my 54,000 service at a trusted Renault specialist and it cost me £80. That was basically for an oil change and general checkover (although I did ask them to check everything as Ive just got the car). I looked back through all the bills that came with my Willy and about £70-100 seems to be the going rate at a specialist, with a couple of odd bits included.
Youve got to remember that Renault dealers hardly ever see a Clio 16V, let alone a Williams and the mechanics treat them accordingly. My last visit to a Renault dealer saw my old 16V end up with 20 more miles on the clock and lots of bits not done right (I was in Edinburgh at the time and couldnt use my regular Renault specialist).
A good specialist like Renatec in Bristol will see a few Clio/19 16Vs every week and will probably have a few regular Williams customers (which is about as popular as youll get in terms of Willys!). I speak to the owner every time and know hed never take a customers car out for a laugh at lunchtime. They know exactly what theyre doing because they see the cars all the time and Id be happy to pay Renault prices for that peace of mind. As it happens, theyre cheaper!
