mmm 10% error on speedo, never took mine to max but renault figures are only about 120 mph tops.

More like 134 offically, but Ive had more than that, and thats clocked on gps.

All the Williams/Valvers/RSi Ive checked the clocks of were about 2.5mph over reading at any speed. So to be doing true 100mph you would need 102.5 on the clocks. Not found a car that is out by a certain % yet...!

Oh yeas, I only ever had 134 indicated out of my Williams, so 131.5mph was the fastest I manage. I dont make a habit of doing those speeds so never tried it again.

these are ally very high top speeds and very illegal but my mates 1600 vts can do 140mph on the clock and as most of these are on the clock figs i thought they have been higher with larger bhp figures, and only slightly heavier car

134mph is the official top speed.

Its those idiots at Evo that give it 120mph; have you also noticed that the 5 GT Turbo apparently weighs 990kg and in one issue they had the Williams weight as something like 1150kg!! Not exactly spot on!

can bounce of the limiter in fith going up hill! indicated 138 ish!

chipped and bouncing of the limtier in fifth, on several occasions, indicated 147mph(limiter comes in just before 7000RPM as opposed to 6500RPM)

Err only 125mph in my Williams, 145mph in my FRST and 135mph in my cousins VTR with 3 up!! I never go near these speeds now as its a jail sentance I think. My cousins VTR used to wildly over-read at highspeed BTW

im sure roamers said an indicated 140mph when he went past me in july, my speedo said 120mph and he made me look like i was going backwards

so i can very well believe his 134gps speed

Had 138 chasing a Vette up the M1, but we ran out of space

This was with four peeps in the Willy, and im sure it could of done more than 140.

All ive got is a devil back box, everything else is standard.

Had about 130 out of my bros with a bit to go - rev limiter is too low for my liking though!

The bloke who got jailed was doing about 150 in a Skoda Octavia RS I think - and Im sure it prompted a few discussions on various boards I visit about how now might be the time to start running than stopping to face the music!

My Willy would pull easily to the rev limit in 5th. Occasionally the limiter would be dozing and it would go a good bit faster pulling up to about 6800 or more with ease, bog stock with 103,000 miles on the clock.

And where I drive this is all perfectly legal...
