Windows Xp Pro Start menu

Because this fourm is more help then half the computer fourms i'm on i'm going to ask this here.
On the image i have attacted, i would like to know how to remove the Black bar on the left ( it used to say windows pro but i removed that )
Also
how do i get the "..." off the "Shut Down" maybe change it to "Turn off"

strange, mine doesnt have the black bar and mine says "turn off computer" and im on XP Pro.

although i dont have Classic start menu turned on...

I have been f**king with mine all day lol so its not standard settings. when u set yours to classic do u have that black bar?

right click the start menu button and choose "properties"
At the bottom of the new window next to classic Start menu click "customise"
then at the drag down list at the bottom put a tick in "Show small icons in Start Menu"
click ok then close the window...

remember this is for my car pc so im trying to make it as small as any thing to fit on 7 inch

Might be better going for firefox over IE not just because of security. But you can get rid of toolbars etc then Since there already integrated into the program.

Also get rid of icons and just have the text there will give you a little more browsing room. Just a suggestion as firefox is far more customizable.

Also think about having the start menu autohide it will then only come up when you move cursor near the bottom thus giving you more room again.

Task bar is already on auto hide
i might try editing the code in IE 1st see how small i can get it
CAN SOME ONE please upload a explorer.exe from windows xp pro i need to change this pc back to normal

Thats how i done it
its not for a 'N00b'
Windows can be messed up very easyly when modding explorer.exe

T here might be software out there that will do it as easy as "Enter text here" but i like the hard way

Ok you know when you edit the reshack you go to '37' well to edit classic theme you edit number '38'
