Windscreen film ??????

Just had a alpine head unit fitted, and had the tv tuner added. The aerials for it tho are at the top of the windscreen. Was just wondering if the purple film stuff on the windscreen blocks the signal as its is poor when they are stuck to it, but when you hold them next to all the other windows or sunroof, the picture is fine? just wondering if this could be causing the problem?

More than likely the exothermic? windscreen that blocks the signal(there fitted to most renaults) they are designed to help reflect heat/uv rays! it's the same if you want to use a portable sat nav etc.. although they do have a small clear section at the bottom of the screen to site the antenna.

so, i would get a much stronger signal if they were fitted to the clear section? ahh always wondered why there was a small section at the bottom. cheers

If you have enough antenna wire try placing it by the sunroof?
