Wiper problems 182

Driving home on the motorway (absolutly pissing down) the drivers side wiper decides to stay stuck in the middle of the window.
Pulled off the motorway and pushed it down but it seems dead, the passenger side wiper is working fine still though.

Anything I can check quickly? Need my car tomorrow morning and with this crappy weather I need the wipers workign obviously! lol

Sounds like the pivot bar connecting them from the motor has come adrift. If you've not had the wipers off before they can be a bit of a swine to remove (The aluminium mounting spline on mine had corroded & they'd seized on).

I ended up using a gear puller-just mind the paint on the edge of your bonnet while you're doing it. Once they're off, you can remove the p/s scuttle panel to sort it out.
