Wireless Router/Sky BB - Help!!!!

I can connect to 'tinternet but when I click on properties of my wireless network connection the status stays "Acquiring Network Address".

Am I right in thinking that as DHCP is enabled the router should automatically assign my PC an IP address? It doesn't actually seem to be causing any problems, just seems a little strange. :S

Also when I check my router settings it shows downstream as being 2528 kbps which is 2Mb when I have paid for the 'mid' package which should be (upto) 8Mb. I know I may not necessarily get 8Mb but when I was at my olds the router said 8Mb downstream.

Wirelessly connected bud or using the cable? It might just be Windows being ghey.

Click Start
Click Run
Type cmd
Click Ok

at the prompt type in

ipconfig /all

Then you'll see if you've got an IP/subnet/gateway/dns etc. Obviosuly you do just Windows might be being pedantic.

No subnet mask and no gateway. Just realised I still have the cat 5 connected!

If you are on the mid package its adsl max so it takes 10days training to see what your maximum speed will be. You may notice your speed fluctuating for the next few days.
