wiring questions for engine fiitting

i'm in the process of fitting a replacement engine into my car.i'm using the wiring loom that came with the enigne with my original ecu in place.becuase its a can(mutliplex) system apparently you can't cut into the loom or the ecu will detect it.the people who removed the engine have cut of the earth and power feed from the cooling fan,can i cut my connector of and just join it to the loom or will the ecu detect a wiring fault?
also they've cut one of the feeds from the battery to the ignition relay i believe, its an 80 amp fuse so i need an 80 amp connector,i've tried halfords best they can do is 45 amp what diy places sell electrical connectors that will take this current?
thanks
