After the garage telling me that my Cup "may" be in there until the end of the week now (after being in for a week already) and me then moaning at them, they appear to have pulled their finger out...

I just rang them now for an update and they told me its almost ready, so I can collect it tonight after work! :D

The new gearbox is now fitted and the fluid leak (PAS I think) has been fixed apparently, although the seat cover (damaged from new) is on back order, so as Meatloaf said "2 out of 3 aint bad" and the seats been like that from day one, so no probs and I know its gonna be sorted.

Hopefully this box wont whine in 1st now and I pray it doesnt have any of the other faults that some of you have had like sticking in gear and/or crunching.

Cant wait to go for a blast!!! :devilish:

Yeah, got a couple of days to play in it before I go away... :D

Nice!

Well built & solid car, nicely finished off, drives well, quite quick but not rapid, however it has got mountains of torque when the turbo comes in and I could happliy do a lot of miles in one.

Good choice by her and a nice move up from a Saxo VTR!

Got it, but its going back!!!

Theres deffo a new box on there (I checked it) and theyve fixed the leaky PAS, plus they washed it so I was happy and theyll swap the seat cover after my hols.

Went for a drive, the gearbox is fine, no whining, changes are all good, feels tight (but thats to be expected) and I was thinking it was all sorted, until I got it warmed up and started to go higher up the revs...

When you get between 4500rpm & 5000rpm theres a vibration/noise coming from somewhere and you can feel it through the car. Spotted it immediately and it will be either summat loose, or the zorst catching, or something along those lines, but Im gonna take it straight back first thing and tell them to sort it NOW as I want it right before my hols!

@rse! :confused:

I was the other way around - got used to the brakes of the 172 really quickly, but nearly put myself through the windscreen when I used their 1.2!

I hope they totally sort the car for you this time.

Well, I took it back first thing this morning, explained the fault, went out with the mechanic then he could listen and yes theres a vibration under load that he is gonna look at.

They wanted to book it in again for next week, but I was not happy and pointed out that theyd had it for over a week already and that it wasnt sorted, so I wanted it doing ASAP and before I go on holiday on Friday morning.

Next thing was that they now had no courtesy cars, so I just went straight to my mate Dave whos the sales manager and hence why I am currently driving a brand spanking new 53 plate Clio! ;)

Good little car too, its a 1.4 16v with alloys, sports seats & stuff, dunno the model as it aint badged up, but its nippy!

Hopefully when I collect it tonight I will ba a happy bunny!!!

At least theres nothing serious gone wrong with it!

The gearbox was fine and I think swapping the box was complete overkill, and as for the vibration its only the exhaust, so summt & nowt.

Once the initial teething troubles are sorted and I settle into it then I know Ill forgive it when it breaks again... ;)

Well, I have forgiven it after my lovely drive (aka thrash) to work this morning!!! :devilish:

Need to re-fit my Viper now though...

take it you took the viper out so no warranty trouble ?
Yeah, I was just being cautious, but I enquired about maybe changing some things later on and they said that stuff like an induction kit & alloys were fine...

So basic stuff wont be a problem.

Glad to hear your baby is ok m8
The brakes feel sh!te now after driving the 1.2 as those brakes are massively over-servod IMO.

Getting used to them again now.

Nice to have some poke again though! ;)

Cant wait to compare to yours with the ECU now...
