Woohoo..picked up the 182 yesterday

Definately the best/most fun car i have ever driven!

Typical Reno though...they dinged the door! I have never had a ding on any of my previous car (only 3 but still)...Mines the car always parked at the other end of the car park, away from everyone else! lol

Also, think i may have a problem already lol...after sudden decelleration theres a fairly loud bang!?! At first i thought i had caught the spiltter or something, it wasnt. Then i thought the exhaust may be be to problem but i dont think its that either, i think its coming from the engine!! Help please cos its got me a little worried

He aint the first with factory fitted stripes, they must be dealer fitted. Was due to be picking my blue with stripes 182 up around now but they said they couldnt factory fit the stripes so now I am waiting a month or so for a titanium.


Anyone know what the bang is? Gary what sort of bang is it? A knock as in like engine mounts or a pop as in fuel igniting?

Toypop, my local dealer has a titanium with dark grey stripes...looks really nice!! With reference to the bang...seems to coming from the engine, really did think it was the front splitter hitting the ground at first....like extreme accelleration then backed off sunddenly and heard the noise and thought to myself that the front had dipped so low to hit a sunken drain or something!

I wouldnt accept the car if it had a ding.

i think the bang will be the same as mine had and a couple of other people on here. On mine, the exhaust was bowing in the middle and also catching the heat shield, they also tightened an engine mount, took them a couple of visits to rectify it but i bet its a known problem now so most dealers will know about it?

oh and nice choice of colour.

bang is either the exhausts or engine mounts.

leather it in first and see what kinda noise it makes when it wheels spins

Cheers Dave Thanks for the info as well mate...may have a look around it tomorrow see if i can find the problem.

Paddy the problem occurs on sudden decelleration and sounds awful, accelleration with or without wheel spin is fine...even when bounced of the limiter lol

I get the same bang.

If I take it to the red line in 2nd, then let off suddenly there is an almighty bang, Im sure its just the engine moving on the mounts.

Dont remember it doing it on my 172 tho.

cheers cocopops Reassuring its not just mine! Seems to do it only in the most extreme cases really, im jus not gonna let off so harsly. Did 400 miles today without a hint of any problems

Went to the land of roundabouts (MK)...cant believe the grip levels of the 182, i expected some understeer but it just kept gripping!

...Jus wanna say, I LOVE MY 182 haha

Mine does it too! Sounds like the exhaust hitting the body or heatshield somewhere toward the engine bay end of things - if you think the bang is loud in second gear try it in first!!

Im going to get the dealer to have a look and see what they can do - the salesman tells me their demonstrator did this but was cured. Anyone else had a fix done yet?
