Worth repairing??

driving along today, and heard a bang, followed by a noise that sounded like bouncing metal as if something had falled out. Upon slowing to a hault, the NSF wheel locked up, and refused to budge.

really needed to going, so managed to get rolling again, and continued until i could get off the main road. The entire way it was clunking. I slowed to a hault again, and once again, the wheels were locking up once they were slow enough, but this time it was both the front wheels. Now the car is completely sold to go forward (in or out of gear). However it will both roll back, and move in reverse.

Im guessing it is Diff or gearbox related sadley. If anyone wants to confirms this it would be great.

my question is, is it worth repair? or should i just strip all the decent parts off the car and scrap it??

It is a 2000 Xreg Clio 1.2 8v grande, 84k,
but its my low bus and im not sure i want to live life up high again!!

so if anyone wants to throw in their take on this,
or make me feel better about loosing my car,
please feel free to pose!

thanks!

surely both of the above would only lead to one wheel locking up??
and thus just work the diff amd spin up the other wheel when trying to pull away??

i will have a little look today if i can,
